LEARN MORE ABOUT FUMC COLLEYVILLE
Welcome to First United Methodist Church of Colleyville! It is our joy to welcome you, and we are glad you are interested in learning more about our church. Our mission at First UMC Colleyville is to “Engage, Connect, Grow, and Serve.” We hope to help everyone engage with a community, connect to God, grow in their faith, and be equipped to serve others in the local community and world. We are here to help you grow closer to God, no matter where you are on your faith journey.
Below you will find general information about our church and United Methodist beliefs. If you have any additional questions, please contact one of our pastors, Pastor Mike or Pastor Katie.
We currently offer two traditional Sunday morning worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. A contemporary worship service is also offered at 11:11 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
Dress for church is a little more traditional at the 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. services than at the 11:11 a.m. contemporary service, but you will see a wide range of attire. Our best advice is to come dressed comfortably. We think you will fit in, no matter what you wear.
Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month with a few exceptions during the year. We believe in an open Communion Table so all are welcome whether or not you are a United Methodist or member of the church.
Sunday School is from 9:45-10:45 and there are classes for all ages. Coffee and donuts are available in the Event Center and in the Narthex outside the Sanctuary. Before and after Sunday school is a wonderful time to connect with the pastors and other worship attenders. Check our electronic display boards in our main gathering areas that highlight current and coming events.
We look forward to meeting you soon!
If you are new to church or new to the United Methodist faith, then we know you may a lot of questions. What do we believe? What is our stance on social issues? How do we view other denominations? We are glad that you are curious. Please click the link below for answers to all these questions and more.
Yes, The United Methodist Church recognizes the baptism of other Christian denominations. We do not rebaptize those who have already received Christian baptism in any form.
The Book of Discipline says, “A member in good standing in any Christian denomination who has been baptized and who desires to unite with The United Methodist Church may be received as either a baptized or a professing member by a proper certificate of transfer from that person’s former church, or by a declaration of Christian faith, and upon affirming willingness to be loyal to The United Methodist Church; It is recommended that instruction in the faith, work, and polity of the Church be provided for all such persons.”

If you are visiting us for the first time, look for our Hosts. Our Hosts are stationed inside most of the doors to the church facility. No matter where you park, you can go inside the nearest door and a Host will direct you to either Sunday School, the Events Center, or the Sanctuary. Traditional services are held in the sanctuary, and contemporary services are held in the Events Center.
Being involved with the children’s ministry has been on of the greatest things about coming to this church. I’ve grown in my faith as a sunday school teacher and my kids have learned so much as well!
Christ's love became real to me when I became involved in my youth group. They have helped me with my ups and downs of life and have helped strengthen my faith.
First United Methodist Church of Colleyville has a warm and welcoming congregation where anyone can easily find their place and feel comfortable as they worship. Whether you prefer a more traditional service or more of a contemporary feel, there is something for everyone!
We’re so glad you’ve decided to visit us! If you missed it, you’ll find a list of commonly asked questions above. Make sure to go through those, and if you don’t find what you are looking for, please don’t hesitate to send us a message or give us a call at (817) 281-5254
You can find our location on the map to the right or below this message, if you are viewing our site on a mobile device.
Feel free to park anywhere. We have plenty of handicap parking around the facility, but the “first time visitor” parking is located at our Church St. entrance. You will find that there are multiple entrances into the church facilities. No need to worry which one is correct, all of them will get you to where you need to go in a matter of seconds. Make sure to find a host when you enter the building if they do not see you first.
Our church has a “come as you are” atmosphere. You will see some dressed up; some dressed casual. We have no expectations for attire.
