Pray for Sutherland Springs
by katie lewis
On Sunday November 5, about the time Pastor Mike and Pastor Katie were delivering sermons about the saints in the traditional and contemporary worship services, a man walked into Sutherland Springs Baptist Church and killed 26 people and injured 20 others. In a space where people are supposed to experience God’s love and light instead experienced horrific violence and murder. There are no words to describe this devastation. Please join us in praying for our brother and sisters in Christ at Sutherland Springs Baptist Church and all those affected by this tragedy. Pray for comfort for the loved ones of those who were killed, for strength and healing for those wounded, and for guidance for our churches, communities, and nation as we respond to this tragedy. Especially in times like these, we cling to the hope that God’s light shines in the darkness and the darkness does not and cannot overcome it (John 1:5). May our faith be greater than our fears.
Special Time of Prayer
In light of this week’s tragic events, we will have a special time of prayer for Sutherland Springs Baptist Church and other recent tragedies during Table Talk. There will be prayer prompts provided at each of the tables. The sanctuary will also be open for prayer from 5:45-6:45 p.m. Please join us this Wednesday evening in praying for the community of Sutherland Springs, our whole state of Texas, and our nation.
