Breathing Under Water Book Study

We are all addicted in some way, whether it be to drugs and alcohol or to shopping, social media, or sin. When we learn to identify our addiction, embrace our brokenness, and surrender to God, we begin to bring healing to ourselves and our world. In his book Breathing Under Water, Richard Rohr shows how the gospel principles in the Twelve Steps can free all of us from addiction.

Pastor Katie will facilitate this six-week book study on Monday nights from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Bassett Conference Room, beginning on Monday, September 9. Cost for the book is $5. Sign up below or call 817-281-5254 to reserve your spot.

Small Group Launch

Small Group Launch

Sunday, September 22 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in FL206

Spiritual growth doesn’t only happen in Sunday worship services, but often happens in less formal gatherings like small groups. A small group typically meets on a weekly or bi-monthly basis for fellowship, study, prayer, and reflection. Small groups of 8 to 10 people allow us to experience the purpose and power of Christ in our lives, dig deeper in our faith and grow closer to God.

This fall, we will have a Small Group Launch on Sunday, September 22 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. At this launch, you will learn more about what it means to be in a small group and meet others looking for the same type of group.

The Hole in Our Gospel Book Study

The Hole in Our Gospel Book Study

Is our faith only about going to church, studying the Bible, and avoiding the most serious sins—or does God expect more? Have we embraced the whole gospel or a gospel with a hole in it? More than twenty years ago Rich Stearns came face-to-face with that question as he sat in a mud hut in Rakai, Uganda, listening to the heartbreaking story of an orphaned child. Stearns’s journey there took much more than a long flight to Africa. It took answering God’s call on his life, a call that tore him out of his corner office at one of America’s most prestigious corporations—to walk with the poorest of the poor in our world. Stearns’s compelling story demonstrates that the whole gospel was always meant to be a world-changing, social revolution, a revolution that begins with each one of us.

Pastor Katie will facilitate this six-week book study on Monday nights from 6:30-7:30 p.m. October 28-November 25 in the upstairs of Market Street. Cost for the book is $5. Sign up below or call 817-281-5254.
