Mental Health First Aid Course

Saturday, July 13 from 9:00-5:00 in Founders Chapel at FUMC Grapevine

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches how to help individuals experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. By recognizing signs of mental health distress and knowing how to communicate with individuals experiencing these scary moments, we can be part of an immensely impactful early intervention effort. If we identify problems early, we increase the chances people get the help they need as soon as possible. Together through initiatives in the Central Texas Conference and a funding grant from Texas Health Resources, FUMC Grapevine is holding an MHFA 8 hour course free of our charge to our congregation and community.

Please join us on Saturday, July 13 from 9:00-5:00 in Founders Chapel at FUMC Grapevine. Register for the course through this link. We’ll have a working lunch to shorten the day. If you like to purchase a $5 sandwich box from Jason’s Deli, please complete this form.

Faith Community Health

A Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Grapevine Pastoral Care Initiative

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Grapevine Medical Center is beginning a new community outreach program that partners with local churches called the Faith Community Health program. The Faith Community Health program helps people reach optimal health by integrating faith communities (local churches) with healthcare (Baylor Grapevine Hospital) in order to provide improved health for former hospital patients who live in nearby communities. Baylor Grapevine Hospital is seeking volunteers who are interested in serving as Faith Community Caregivers. These caregivers meet with patients, who are discharged from Baylor Grapevine Hospital, for one hour a week to check in on them and offer care and support. The volunteers are trained by Baylor Grapevine Hospital personnel. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please contact Pastor Katie Newkirk at or by calling the church office.
