·techteam·Comments Off on Confirmation
The time for Confirmation is almost upon us! Confirmation is a great opportunity for a child to take the faith we all have helped grow them in and to make it their own. It is their chance to confirm that they want to live out the vows of their Baptismal covenant. We also welcome them to bring their friends to learn and grow alongside them.
We will have a Confirmation Orientation for Confirmands and their Parents / Guardians that will cover the full process on August 20 at 10:00 AM at the FUMC Colleyville Youth Building. Confirmation itself will start on September 10 and run weekly till November 19. Confirmation will conclude with Confirmation Sunday which will be on December 3 this year. In addition to the normal classes, we will also have a couple of field trips, a service project, and a Confirmation Retreat Evening during our time together as well. There will be more information on those events on August 20.
If you are interested in having your child Confirmed please sign up HERE. Reach out to Will Keck with any questions,

Join us August 3rd through 5th for Decked Out a Youth Mission Project at FUMC Colleyville. We will be transforming the worn-out deck of the Youth Building into a brand new outdoor deck space that we can use for a variety of events. Together we will have a lot of fun learning about what it means to be Decked Out for Christ and we will also be finishing each evening with a great fun event!
There will be Whirly Ball, a Pool Party, Laser Tag, lots of great meals together and plenty of time for fellowship. The retreat will cost $50 per Youth, but they can bring friends for free. Scholarships are also available; please reach out to Bill Frawley or Will Keck for more information.
Please join us in the event center for the Mission and Ministry Fair on Sunday, September 11 between services. Enjoy a light brunch while meeting people and gathering information about the various ministry and mission opportunities within our church.

As a parent, it can be a struggle to help your kids navigate change, uncertainty, and being upset. This two-hour workshop will help parents develop tools to support kids in navigating all their God-given feelings. The workshop will be led by Rev. Rachel Heyduck, an ordained deacon in The United Methodist Church and a certified coach, with a background in social work. Childcare will be provided. The workshop will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person, but it will not be recorded.
In addition to the workshop, Rev. Rachel Heyduck will also be a guest speaker in the 11:11 service on Sunday, August 28. She will be speaking about anxiety, as a part of our Mental Health and the Church worship series.
